Potential of resveratrol in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (Review)

The potential of resveratrol in treating systemic lupus erythematosus. (Autoimmune disease or SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus))

Abstract: SLE (Systemic lupus erythematosus) is a chronic multisystem autoimmune disease with a complex onset and development process. Related to immune system disorders An uncertain prognosis And treatment methods vary depending on the patient and the symptoms of the disease. Currently, clinical treatment of SLE mainly focuses on hormones and immunosuppressive drugs. In the past few years Research into new treatment strategies for SLE is increasingly popular. And the strong results of preclinical trials and clinical research have promoted the development of many drugs (such as rituximab and orencia), but many of these drugs have not been successful in clinical trials. And there are also adverse reactions. Recent evidence indicates that resveratrol (RSV) is effective in improving immune system disorders by inhibiting excessive immune cell activity. In this review Research advances on the protective effects and mechanisms of resveratrol on SLE are summarized. and highlighting the potential of resveratrol and its use is a promising therapeutic approach for the treatment of SLE.
