Pharmacological potential of resveratrol in delaying kidney aging.

Aging is an inevitable part of life. The older we get, the more The more we risk complications and damage to vital organs. Including only the kidneys. Most currently available kidney disease drugs are of synthetic origin. Therefore, natural compounds with minimal side effects are attracting increasing attention from the scientific community and pharmaceutical companies. A literature search was performed to collect published research data on the effects of resveratrol on kidney aging. Recently, resveratrol has emerged as a potential anti-aging agent. This versatile polyphenol exerts its effects on aging by interfering with multiple disease and signaling systems. including sirtuin1, AMP-activated protein kinase and nuclear factor-κB. Researchers are working to determine the detailed mechanisms and possible interference of resveratrol in these different pathways at the molecular level. This review highlights (i) the etiological factors involved in kidney aging and the therapeutic nature of resveratrol and (ii) the effectiveness of resveratrol in delaying the kidney aging process while minimizing all possible side effects.
