The efficacy of Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors is significantly limited by various drug resistance mechanisms. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and EGFR inhibitors are important treatments in lung cancer. Resveratrol (RSV, 3, 5, 4-trihydroxystilbene), a natural polyphenolic phytoalexin, has anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic and anti-angiogenic properties. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of resveratrol in gefitinib-resistant PC9 cells (PC9/G) and determine whether targeted VEGF signaling inhibits cancer cell proliferation.
