Resveratrol in lung cancer- a systematic review

Objectives: Resveratrol, a phytochemical known for its antioxidant properties, has been explored worldwide for its anticancer potential. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to document the efficacy of resveratrol on lung cancer.

Results The main outcomes of eligible studies included changes in overall malignant tumor incidence and malignant tumor size. All of the above studies involved animal models or in vitro cancer cell testing. A statistically significant reduction in the incidence of malignant tumors occurred when compared to the control group. This yielded a relative risk reduction of 0.64 (p=0.002). This meta-analysis confirms the potential of resveratrol in lung cancer.

TLDR concludes that resveratrol has great potential for future use as a highly effective therapeutic agent in the management of lethal lung cancer.
