Resveratrol (3,5,4′-trans-trihydroxystilbene) is a polyphenolic phytoalexin that belongs to the stilbene family and is found in some plants. Oxidative stress and inflammation play an important role. in the onset and progression of age-related eye disorders (glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration), resulting in vision loss and blindness becoming more and more common. Although how resveratrol benefits the human body and a wide range of diseases remains the subject of ongoing scientific research showing that resveratrol's various anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties are beneficial to ocular tissue. In our research we analyzed the current scientific literature on resveratrol. which is the mechanism of action and therapeutic application to evaluate the effectiveness in treating eye diseases.
