A Review of Resveratrol as a Potent Chemoprotective and Synergistic Agent in Cancer Chemotherapy

Background: Cancer has become an important disease that harms human health worldwide. traditional chemotherapy There are many side effects. These include pain, cardiotoxicity, liver toxicity, and kidney toxicity. This review aims to describe the natural product of resveratrol as a protective and synergistic chemical in modulating cancer chemotherapy.

Methods: Research publications were identified through a comprehensive search in SciFinder, PubMed, Web of Science. Search terms included "Resveratrol", "cancer", "natural products", "chemotherapy" and "side effects". The selection focuses on resveratrol to reduce side effects from cancer chemotherapy.

Results: Thirty-one papers were cited in this review to summarize the properties of resveratrol as a potential and synergistic chemopreventive agent in cancer chemotherapy, 22 papers to describe the chemopreventive effect, and 9 papers to demonstrate the synergistic effect.

Conclusions: This study provides a systematic summary of resveratrol acting as a potent and synergistic chemopreventive agent. To reduce related side effects and enhance treatment results in cancer chemotherapy. Numerous additional studies of resveratrol in preclinical testing and clinical trials are forthcoming.
